About The Band
Duncanville Middle School is a public school in the Tuscaloosa County School System. The school system supports and services many of the schools in Tuscaloosa County, including six senior high schools, nine middle schools, and eighteen elementary schools. With membership in the band, students have the opportunity to participate in area honor bands, solo and ensemble contests, Music Performance Assessment, Allstate Festival and regional concert festivals. Duncanville Middle School feeds into Hillcrest High School, and one of the premier high school band programs in the state!
Meet the Director
Mr. Moore is the Director of Bands at Duncanville Middle School. Originally from Fayette, Alabama, Mr. Moore moved to Tuscaloosa to attend The University of Alabama where he earned a bachelor's degree in Music Education. While attending the university, Mr. Moore marched with the Million Dollar Band where he also served on the leadership team, played in all of the bands on various instruments, played with The University of Alabama Trombone Choir, and was treasurer for the University of Alabama Trombone Studio. Mr. Moore is also a member of the Alabama Winds, a community band primarily made of band directors from around the state, and who has recently performed in one of the largest conferences for Music Educators, The Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic. Mr. Moore also participates int eh Black Warrior Winds where he plays oboe and bass clarinet.
